World Refugee Day

Monday, June 17, 2019

Celebrate World Refugee Day on Friday, June 21, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Market Square. Performances, activities, and cuisine will showcase members of Pittsburgh’s refugee and immigrant communities.

Experience performances by African, Nepali, and Greek dance groups, along with Venezuelan musicians, dance and drumming from the Hill Dance Academy Theater, and poetry performed by Osama Alomar from Pittsburgh City of Asylum.

Taste food from Syria, Iraq, and Turkey, and listen to the stories of people who have come here from far points in the world seeking peace and prosperity for their children.
