Part of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Bicentennial Gallery Crawl

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will present a supersized Night Market as part of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Bicentennial Gallery Crawl on Friday, March 18 from 5:30 -10:00 p.m. This special edition of the Night Market will take place in 623 Smithfield Street, the former Office Depot building, and will bring together the largest collection of unique and handcrafted vendors, food purveyors and entertainment ever to be included at one of PDP’s Night Markets.

“For this special Bicentennial Gallery Crawl, we are looking forward to pulling out all the stops and transforming this space into a must-visit destination for one night,” said Jeremy Waldrup, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. “The combination of excellent artists and crafters with local food purveyors, as well as fun entertainment will no doubt, make a vibrant, enjoyable night.”

In addition to the vendors, the market will feature multiple thirty minute sets by much loved musical legend Frankie Capri. Known for doing weekly shows throughout the 1980’s and 90’s, originally at the Liberty Belle Tavern and then the Lava Lounge, Frankie will bring his colorful, one-man-band homage of Elvis’s music to the market. DJ Soy SOS will spin tunes between Frankie’s sets

The market will also feature giant games including Jenga, Connect Four, Chess, and corn hole. Food will be available for purchase from some of Downtown and the area’s most innovative restaurants including Meat and Potatoes and Market Street Grocery. Perlé, Pittsburgh’s only champagne bar, will be featuring creative cocktails, beer and wine. Sazerac liquors will be sampling their range of products on site, as well.

Since the summer of 2012, PDP Night Markets have occurred during the Cultural Trust Gallery Crawls and continue to attract Pittsburgh’s most interesting mix of art, craft and food. This market is made possible with support by McKnight Realty, Green Mountain Energy and Sazerac Liquors.
