Let Freedom Sing features MLK-inspired oratory by the award-winning artist Vanessa German, performances by Reed Dance II directed by acclaimed choreographer Greer Reed, choral arrangements by The Heritage Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh, and a spectacular finale by a mass choir made up of singers from all over the Pittsburgh region: from city and suburb, from white neighborhoods and black neighborhoods, from affluent areas and struggling areas, from adult choirs and high school choirs. The performance lifts up the values championed by Dr. King: Diversity, Unity, Non-violence, Justice, Peace, Love, Compassion, Desegregation, Anti-racism, Anti-poverty. Through freewill monetary donations, the concert benefits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
