Looking to get moving? Challenge a friend or coworker to a game of ping pong, outsmart them in giant chess, checkers, or Jenga, or play a few rounds of cornhole! All for free. Games are out for play when Park Ambassadors are present in the Square.

Yoga in the Square
Pittsburgh’s favorite free yoga series returns with two free one-hour yoga classes to Market Square with some of the city’s best yoga instructors!
Enliven and enrich your child’s summer with KidsPlay at Market Square! This free program brings fun and educational programs for children and their families to Downtown.
Downtown’s showcase Farmers Market will be celebrating its 15th season with fresh produce and goods from local vendors while providing the Downtown community with a unique and convenient shopping experience that enlivened the city.
Dancing in the Square
Dancing in the Square is presented by USA Dance Pittsburgh in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. Join us to get their weekend moving as you learn exciting new and traditional dances in the heart of Pittsburgh. Classes are free, don’t require a partner, and are followed up perfectly with dinner in Downtown.
Night Market + Downtown Sound Series
PDP Night Markets bring an awesome outdoor pop-up shopping market and festival to Downtown, featuring some of Pittsburgh’s most creative independent vendors. As part of our Downtown Sound Initiative, the PDP presents a 25 week-long, free, live music series at the Night Markets in collaboration with community partners presenting diverse styles of local music.
A variety of retailers and mobile fashion trucks pop-up to offer unique deals, great finds, and an exciting way to do some shopping on your lunch break in Downtown while supporting small, local businesses.
Developed in 2013, the Downtown Activation and Public Art initiative is a multi-year effort to enhance the Downtown neighborhood through public art events, creating thoughtful and innovative programming that enlivens unique areas throughout Downtown Pittsburgh. Our efforts employ object, programming, and community-based strategies to create a more sustainable neighborhood.

Over the past few years, the PDP has successfully implemented a number of programs to enhance the vibrancy of Downtown, from the transformation of Market Square and the expansion of our programming to the installation of public art in Strawberry Way.
