#HorseWithNoNamePGH Contest

You can help name the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s newest horse! Due to the generosity of the Downtown business community in helping to re-establish the police department’s mounted unit, the Bureau has asked Downtown Pittsburgh to suggest a new name for this magnificent horse. He is a 6-year-old Percheron/Tennessee Walking cross that recently arrived at the stables in South Park from Glenfield, NY, and he is eager to get to work on the streets of Pittsburgh. This handsome guy is 17 hands tall and weighs approximately 1700 pounds.

We accepted names on our Instagram account and via email, through Thursday, March 1.  Four names were then selected and you are now able  to vote through our Facebook and Twitter accounts, through Wednesday, March 7. The winning name will be announced at our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 14.

The person who suggests the winning name will have the opportunity to attend a meet and greet and a photo opportunity with the horse.
