Groups Welcome
Bruegger's Bagels
Everyone knows that New York City is the home of the best-tasting, most authentic bagels anywhere. So when the idea for Bruegger’s was born in in 1983, the first thing we did was head for the Big Apple. We learned the time-honored, traditional methods that had made New York famous for bagels like kettle-cooking the bagels, then baking in a real stone hearth oven. We spent two and a half years working with a professional bagel baker to perfect our recipe and process. Then we set off on our mission to introduce the authentic taste of New York-style bagels to the rest of America. Hours: Mon - Fri: 5:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sat - Sun: 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Five Guys
Five Guys has been a Washington, DC area favorite since 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to the four young Murrell brothers: "Start a business or go to college."The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint in Arlington, Virginia. Under the guidance of Jerry and Janie, the Murrell family served only hand-formed burgers cooked to perfection on a grill along with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil. The little burger joint quickly developed a cult-like following. Press paid attention. Customers voted the burger"#1" in the metro area. During the 1980's and 1990's the Murrell family perfected their simple system. Five Guys was The Place to get a fresh, juicy burger with all the toppings you could stuff between fresh-baked buns. A fifth brother was born and, as their family grew, so did their business. Four more restaurants with sit-down seating were added to accommodate the growing clientele. Early in 2003 Jerry and Janie, together with the five"guys" began offering franchise opportunities. In just under 18 months, Five Guys Enterprises sold options for over 300 units. The overwhelming success of franchising a local restaurant made national news with articles in trade publications such as Nation's Restaurant News, Restaurant Business Magazine, and the Franchise Times. Now, over 20 years after Five Guys first opened, there are over 1,000 locations nationwide and over 1500 units in development. Five Guys continues to receive media attention and has grown a cult-like following around the world.

Meat and Potatoes are generally the stand-in for "bread and butter" as shorthand for the staples we need to function. With that thought in mind Chef Richard Deshantz had the desire to enhance his culinary vision by opening up a second restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh. Meat & Potatoes, Pittsburgh's first gastropub, was born in the spring of 2011. Lunch/Brunch hours: Monday - Friday; 11am - 3pm Saturday - Sunday Brunch; 10:30am - 2:30pm

Mike’s Beer Bar
Beerhead Bar & Eatery began as a quest of two long-time friends, business partners, and restauranteurs. The idea was to start a concept that was unique in both its atmosphere and menu offerings — a concept that they could grow yet had a character that exemplified a favorite local beer pub and gathering place rather than a “cookie cutter” chain restaurant. Local appeal and a local focus were key components of their quest. Through their travels and personal interests in unique beers and spirits, the founders took notice of the growing momentum of the craft beer and liquor markets. They soon developed a concept that married the appeal of offering countless locally and regionally brewed beer and spirits with a contemporary yet timeless atmosphere. The first store (branded under “The Beer Market” trade name) opened in May, 2012 in Vernon Hills, Illinois, offering approximately 500 brands of beer at any given time, live music, and “community” seating, all wrapped within a warm, entertaining environment. The vast and changing local beer offerings, live acoustic music, communal tables, and inviting atmosphere immediately appealed to a wide range of guests. Since the opening of the Vernon Hills store, the Beerhead team has sought to expand their presence in other markets with a keen eye on creating a local environment closely tied to the surrounding communities, breweries, distilleries, and markets.

The Enrico Biscotti Company
At Enrico Biscotti, they have all manner of traditional Italian pastries, from macaroons to tortas. But what will surely catch your eye are the magnificent biscotti; huge – not the typical small, hard, no taste variety that seem to be everywhere. They hand shape and bake every loaf of biscotti, then hand cut every piece. The result is a biscotti that is not uniform in size and shape, but one that is unique, natural and true to the methods that bakers have used for hundreds of years.

THE TEAM

The Foundry’s kitchen is led by Executive Chef Mike Godlewski, formerly of the Duquesne Club. The restaurant is the realization of a lifelong dream of brother and sister Andrew Stackiewicz and Michelle Bugg, both Pittsburgh natives.  Along with Michelle’s husband, Rob, the Foundry team is excited to offer a refreshing new option on the North Shore.

THE NAME

The Foundry's name pays tribute to the North Shore's rich history where tradesmen forged the city's future and legacy in its local mills and foundries. Just down the street, the H.K. Porter Foundry and Machine Co., founded in 1866, operated for nearly 50 years supplying world-renowned steam and diesel locomotives helping to establish Pittsburgh as the Nation's leading industrial city of the era.

And, we hope that guests will enjoy themselves, from that first morning Americano to late-night drinks from the self-pouring tap system and playing pool in Standard Hall.

?Let's Break It Down

We're just a little "extra" here at The Standard, meaning there's a lot to know about us! Here's what you can expect to see upon your visit...

The Market

We noticed a hole in the area where a coffee shop should lie, so we decided to fill that space with the market side of The Standard! Includes:

  • A full-service espresso bar

  • A variety of hot teas

  • Freshly blended smoothies and juices

  • Quick, made-to-order breakfast and lunch

  • Grab 'n Go sandwiches, wraps, salads, and drinks

  • A 2nd story, open-air mezzanine for dining, meeting, or working

Seated Dining Service

Available beginning at 11 am, The Standard offers seated dining for lunch and dinner, with fresh & flavorful menu options, like chopped crunchy salads, loaded flatbreads, smoked wings, power grain & protein bowls, and fresh seafood.

?The Pint House

We love interactive experiences so we wanted to bring that to the Cultural District as well! In addition to our full-service bar, we also offer a self-serve tap system with local and craft brews, wines, and cocktails on tap. The perfect pairing for watching Pittsburgh sports on the many big screens surrounding the Pint House.

?Looking for a fun night out without the club scene? Grab a pint and head over to the vintage arcade, loaded with classics like Pac Man, pin-ball, duck bowling, and darts. Our private dining space, when not reserved, will also house 2 large pool tables with lounge space. Call ahead and reserve one for your group!

Waffles, INCaffeinated
At Waffles, INCaffeinated, we believe that breakfast should not be excluded from fine dining. We offer unique, delicious and artistically plated dishes prepared from scratch using a wide variety of ingredients. We start with a sourdough waffle, perfectly prepared, buttery, crispy and deliciously golden brown.  Next, and to your liking, we create sweet waffle dishes such as the Megaberry with blueberries and raspberries, inside and out topped with fresh cut strawberries, raspberry sauce, and whipped cream. Or we make it a savory plate such as the Breakfast Magic with bacon, cheddar cheese, and scallions inside and out, crowned with a fried egg. We even have a Build Your Own option where YOU design the waffle to YOUR specific taste!   Additionally, our waffle dishes may be requested as gluten and dairy free! But we aren’t just waffles!  We have omelets, French toasts, sandwiches, and sides.  “Wake up” your meal with one of our gourmet coffees and teas. Our house coffee is 100% Arabica and locally roasted. Bring your family, friends, and co-workers for the most unique and delicious breakfast in town!
