In case you missed it, Downtown Pittsburgh is opening back up (safely), and some of your favorite stores, restaurants, and activities are returning. Check out the latest openings in the neighborhood below.

๐ฐ Prantl’s Bakery, famous for its Burnt Almond Torte, has reopened their Market Square location just in time for the holidays.
๐ฅ Au Bon Pain’s bakery and cafe in the U.S. Steel Tower Concourse has reopened for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., with online ordering, pickup, and delivery available.
๐ฅ Madonna’s Mediterranean Restaurant, a Downtown lunchtime staple located on Smithfield Street, has reopened for dine-in and takeout service during weekdays from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
๐งโโ๏ธ Aither Yoga, a new concept focused on exceptionally clean air for your yoga practice, is now open in their first studio on Forbes Avenue with a light-filled space featuring a 22-foot mural by artist Jeremy Raymer.
๐ Eadie’s Market & Catering, located in BNY Mellon Center, is now reopen for breakfast and lunch, along with catering, online ordering, and more, including sandwiches, deli favorites, and specialty cakes.
๐ Meat & Potatoes, Pittsburgh’s first gastropub featuring simple and approachable American comfort food, is reopening on September 23. New hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m., and open for Sunday Brunch from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
๐ณ or, the Whale is coming back with a new rooftop dinner series overlooking Downtown Pittsburgh. Enjoy a prix fixe menu starting Friday, September 18, along with special collaborations to continue through fall.
๐ Vallozzi’s Pittsburgh, serving inspired Italian cuisine, is reopening for dinner and takeout on Tuesday, September 15, with reservations now available.
๐ tรคkล, home to unique taco creations and a mix of Asian-Mexican fushion street foods and a part of the Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group, is reopened for indoor and outdoor dining, along with takeout.
๐ญ The August Wilson African American Cultural Center has reopened as of September 18, with Dominic Chamberโs Like the Shapes of Clouds on Water exhibition in the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation Gallery.
๐ฅ Bluebird Kitchen, featuring a from-scratch menu of breakfast, lunch, and pastry options, is reopening for breakfast and lunch at their Forbes Avenue location. New hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
๐ August Henry’s Burger Bar is reopening Wednesday, September 9 for dine-in, takeout, and delivery featuring a new menu and outdoor seating. New hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 – 9:00 p.m., plus Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 – 10:00 p.m.
๐น Talia, serving a modern take on a traditional Italian trattoria focusing on house-made pastas, an all-Italian wine list, cocktails, and more, is reopened as of Tuesday, September 8.
๐ป Redbeard’s on Sixth Sports Bar & Grill is now open with expanded outdoor seating options available on Sixth Street, along with limited indoor dining. Temporary hours will be Mondays through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Fridays from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 3:00 – 10:00 p.m.
๐ฎ Bakersfield, serving up authentic, Mexican street fare and a selection of over 100 tequilas and American whiskeys, is now open as of August 26 for limited dine-in and outdoor eating.
๐ฅ The Standard Market & Pint House, having opened just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic on Penn Avenue, is back open for outdoor dining Thursdays through Sundays from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m., with the cafe open Fridays through Sundays beginning at 7:00 a.m. for coffee and light breakfast fare.
๐ love, Pittsburgh’s Downtown location in the Cultural District, located by the Harris Theatre, is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Curbside pickup is also available.
๐ณ The Speckled Egg, which made a splash when it opened in Downtown’s historic Union Trust Building, is back serving breakfast, brunch, cocktails, coffee, and more Wednesdays through Sundays from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
๐คฃ Arcade Comedy is back, bringing live comedy and in-person performances to Downtown through socially-distanced outdoor shows. Enjoy small audience sizes and some of the ‘burgh’s premier comedy talent Sunday and Monday evenings, along with drop-in improv classes, at the Trust Oasis.
๐ Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has recently opened on Penn Avenue in the former Ben & Jerry’s location, offering special introductory prices on massages and facials while following increased safety precautions.
๐ฅง Cobbler World, a bakery popular at area farmers markets, has reopened their Downtown storefront located by the Convention Center as of September 1.
๐ง Sienna Mercato has reopened two of their restaurants, Emporio, their ground-level meatball space on Penn Avenue, and Il Tetto, the rooftop beer garden, Thursdays through Sundays beginning August 26.
๐ฅ Harris Grill‘s Fourth Avenue location in Downtown is reopened as of Thursday, September 3 with an improved interior dining room providing intimate seating with social distancing, along with delivery and pickup.
