Located along Ft. Duquesne Boulevard, the new pop-up park will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to activate the riverfront and one of the city’s most iconic views with art, music, and more this summer at a time when traffic Downtown is substantially reduced.
Beginning Tuesday, May 11, the westbound lanes of the roadway will be closed between 7th and Stanwix Streets through the summer.
Plans are in place to manage traffic when volumes increase and additional events occur.
*Note: the closure and detour does not affect Ft. Duquesne Boulevard eastbound (into Downtown and towards the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Strip District, etc.)
Drivers heading towards I-279 from Downtown via Ft. Duquesne Boulevard’s westbound lane can make an easy detour by turning left onto 7th Street, right onto Penn Avenue, then right again onto Stanwix Street to reconnect with the on-ramp.
