When the general public thinks of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP), they often point to our festivals, markets, and public events. Those activations bring incredible energy to Downtown. But at the core of our mission is work that isn’t always as visible: keeping Downtown clean, safe, and welcoming.
At a time when conversations about the safety of city streets are heightened across the country, it’s important to remember that safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment are the foundation of everything we do. Whether we’re attracting businesses and visitors or supporting the people who call Downtown home, it’s a top priority.
Core
Our on-street services work around the clock to keep Downtown clean, safe and welcoming. Here are a few recent highlights:
Clean Team Highlights (August 2025)
Outreach Team Highlights (August 2025)
Golden Triangle Ambassador Highlights (August 2025)
Volunteer highlights: August
This month our teams focused on weed abatement among other tasks, and our volunteers did a great job. Our volunteers worked primarily on the Boulevard of the Allies and on Fort Pitt Boulevard near Grant Street. In addition to weed abatement, the volunteers also tackled graffiti removal, focusing on Fourth Avenue near Wood Street, Third Avenue near Smithfield, and various other locations throughout the service area.
We thank all of our partners who served in the month of August and every month. We could not do what we do for Downtown without you!
