New Bike Infrastructure Connects Point State Park to Maryland

Get ready to break out your bike, because the final linking piece of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) is nearly complete! Now, bicyclists can safely travel over 150 miles from the Point in Downtown to Maryland on a protected bike path.
 
The completed sections included new street upgrades and a bike lane on Stanwix Street and Third Avenue, alongside PPG Place. The lane runs to Penn Avenue, connecting Liberty Avenue to Commonwealth Place and the entrance to Point State Park. New pedestrian and transit infrastructure improvements have also been installed as part of the project.
