Music and Nightlife Industry Audit

Monday, March 5, 2018

The Pittsburgh Music Ecosystem Project (a collaboration of WYEP, The City of Pittsburgh, and the PDP) has launched the Pittsburgh Music and Nightlife Industry Audit – a comprehensive online survey for Pittsburgh’s music community. Data collected from the 10-minute survey will help inform the final recommendations to be included in the Project’s report due Summer 2018. The survey is now live and available at PGHMusicProject.org through midnight March 31, 2018.

The purpose of the audit is to capture an in-depth look at Pittsburgh’s music and nightlife sector, establish a detailed baseline of the current industry and identify existing barriers and opportunities for growth in industry jobs, salaries, and revenue.

Full and part time employees, contract workers, and business owners in every sector of the music and entertainment industry are encouraged to complete the survey. Among others, this includes musicians, artist managers, agents, studios, audio engineers, equipment and music retailers and manufacturers, event production services, producers, music support services, and anyone employed in a music venue, bar, tavern, or nightclub throughout the 13 County Greater Pittsburgh region. All respondents’ participation is anonymous as no personal contact information is collected.
