Downtown Road Closures in July

As the summer continues, more construction and events are coming to Downtown. Be sure to keep an eye out for road closures when visiting!

Details subject to change as more information is provided.

EVENTS

Saturday, July 2: Anthrocon Parade & Block Party

The Anthrocon Parade will begin inside the David L. Lawrence Convention Center then lead out onto 10th Avenue (underneath the convention center).

Parade starts at 2 p.m.

The Anthrocon Block Party will take place on Penn Avenue (right in front of the convention center) between 9th and 11th Street.

The Block Party is from 12 – 9 p.m.

Monday, July 4: City of Pittsburgh’s Independence Day

Commonwealth Place in front of Point State Park will have reduced parking while two lanes of reduced traffic remain open.

Road, highway, and bridge closures will be announced on a rolling basis during the 9:35 p.m. fireworks show.

Thursday, July 14 – Sunday, July 17: Pittsburgh Black Music Festival

The Black Music Festival is coming to Point State Park, Market Square, and Liberty Avenue (between Stanwix Street and Commonwealth Place).

The Black Music Festival will take place daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday, July 15 – Sunday, July 17: Picklesburgh

This year, Picklesburgh will take place on the Rachel Carson (9th Street) Bridge and Riverside on the 10th Street Bypass.

Picklesburgh Schedule:
Friday and Saturday: 12 – 10 p.m.
Sunday: 12 – 6 p.m.

Friday, July 22: Fleet Feet Liberty Mile

The Fleet Feet Liberty Mile will begin on Penn Avenue and end on Liberty Avenue.

Penn and Liberty Avenues will be closed between Stanwix Street and 11th Street.

Saturday, July 23: Disability Pride Pittsburgh

Celebrate the PRIDE that is felt within the community and the 32nd Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act from 600 – 700 Fort Duquesne Boulevard. The event will take place from 1 – 5 p.m.
