From age-old classics to contemporary work, the third annual Black Bottom Film Festival illuminates and celebrates African American cinema and unique Black people.
From February 15 – 24 at the August Wilson Center, the festival showcases movies that focus on the themes of spirituality, race, family conflict, honor, duty and working-class struggle, themes ever-present in August Wilson’s The Pittsburgh Cycle plays. With panel discussions, film screenings, and more, the festival celebrates African-American filmmaking pioneers of recent decades. View the schedule of events.
