What’s Reopening in Downtown (Updated)

See which Downtown restaurants, entertainment spots, gyms, and more are beginning to safely reopen for indoor dining, in-studio training, and more, with limited capacity and following additional safety precautions.

Reopening Soon

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Heinz History Center & Fort Pitt Museum will reopen daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. beginning on January 9. 

๐Ÿณ The Speckled Egg, a neighborhood diner whipping up omelets, pancakes, cocktails, espresso, and more in The Union Trust Building, will be reopening January 9.

๐Ÿ Vallozzi’s Pittsburgh, serving inspired Italian cuisine, is reopening for dinner and takeout on January 12. Their dining room and lounge will be open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.    

๐Ÿท Talia, serving a modern take on a traditional Italian trattoria, focusing on house-made pastas, an all-Italian wine list, cocktails, and more, will reopen for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, beginning on January 12.  

Latest Reopenings  

๐ŸŽฟ The Ski Lodge, a pop-up from Creatives Drink and Market St. Grocery, has reopened for hot cocktails and tasty bites with fire pits available for outdoor seating on a first-come, first-served basis Fridays and Saturdays in Market Square.

๐Ÿ” The Commoner, inside the Hotel Monaco, is back open for Grab + Go Breakfast weekdays from 7:30 – 10 a.m., dinner daily beginning at 5 p.m., and brunch on weekends from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

๐ŸŒฎ Bakersfield, serving up authentic, Mexican street fare, and a selection of over 100 tequilas and American whiskeys, has reopened for in-person dining with hours Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., along with Friday and Saturday from 4 – 11 p.m. Look for lunch service to return in the coming weeks, as well.

๐Ÿ… Sienna Mercato has reopened Emporio, their ground-level meatball space on Penn Avenue, and Il Tetto, the rooftop beer garden.  

๐Ÿฅ˜ย Fl. 2, located in Fairmont Pittsburgh, is open for dinner Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday for brunch from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.ย 

๐Ÿด Revel, with a menu of locally-driven, seasonal cuisine, is now open with reservations recommended.

๐Ÿธ Bridges & Bourbon is open for indoor dining, outdoor dining in the domes, and takeout.

๐Ÿ• Mama Lucia’s Pizzeria, known for their homemade pizza dough and lasagna, is now reopen for dine-in along with takeout and delivery Monday through Saturday.  

๐Ÿงช Carnegie Science Center, located on the North Shore, has reopened Wednesday Through Monday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is now offering in-person programs for children and adults.  

๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Altus โ€“ HPO, located on Liberty Avenue, is now open and offers functional training, boxing, cycling, nutritional coaching, and more. They are also continuing their remote coaching so you can work out anywhere.  

๐Ÿ”ฅ Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, the wood-fired grill has reopened for indoor dining in their new location on Sixth Street in the Cultural District, with takeout and delivery still available. They will be serving guests Tuesday through Saturday 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.  

๐Ÿ›๏ธ The Andy Warhol Museum, currently featuring daily theater screenings of Andy Warholโ€™s television series Fashion, Andy Warholโ€™s T.V., and Andy Warholโ€™s Fifteen Minutes, has reopened Wednesday through Monday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

๐Ÿฑ The Warren, offering handcrafted cocktails, fresh sushi, sea’wiches and more, has reopened for indoor dining as of January 6. They will be open Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.  

๐ŸฅŠ Clarkfit Boxing is back open in Market Square and offering group classes, private training, and open gym sessions to help you sweat off those pandemic pounds.  

๐Ÿฅช Boulevard Deli, offering specialty sandwiches inspired by your favorite spots in the Burgh, has reopened Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Takeout is still available.  

๐Ÿฅฉ Fogo De Chรฃo, now open seven days a week, offers authentic Brazilian culture and cuisine in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh. They serve seasonal salads, irresistibly fresh vegetables, imported meats and cheeses, artisan breads and more. 

๐Ÿบ Bar Louie, the original gastropub, has reopened, offering bar bites, flatbreads, martinis, and more. Visit them on the North Shore, Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. 

๐Ÿœ Chinatown Inn, serving fine Chinese cuisine for over three generations, has reopened seven days a week. They also offer pickup and delivery through DoorDash, Grubhub and Seamless.  

๐Ÿฆœ The National Aviary has reopened as of January 6 offering in-person and virtual programs. They are now also offering an online shopping experience with curbside pickup.  

๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Etage Athletic Club, Pittsburgh’s premier fitness, athletic & wellbeing Center, has reopened. Find 30,000 square feet of latest fitness & athletic training equipment, a rooftop basketball court, yoga, HIIT X studio, Les Mills Classes and much more.  

๐Ÿด Nicky’s Thai Kitchen, offering traditional Thai cuisine, is now open for dine-in, takeout, and delivery Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

๐Ÿ” Bill’s Bar & Burger, serving handmade griddle burgers, sweet milkshakes, and more is now open for dine-in, curbside pick-up and delivery, Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.  

๐Ÿง‡ Waffles, INCaffeinated, offering gourmet waffles, coffee, sandwiches, and salads, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

New to the Neighborhood

๐ŸŽ‰ Rosewater Middle Eastern Grill has just opened up in Downtown at 808 Liberty Avenue, serving classic dishes and new creations available for takeout and delivery.
