St. Patrick’s Day Activities

This weekend, Downtown will be bustling with activity. Check out everything going on below!

Pop Up Irish Shop | U.S. Steel Tower
Before heading to any of the festivities this weekend, you’ll need to get some new St. Paddy’s gear! The team from the Pittsburgh Irish Festival has you covered. Stop by their pop up shop in the basement of the U.S. Steel Tower this Thursday or Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. They will also be in Market Square on Saturday between 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

St Patrick’s Day Parade | Grant Street
This year’s parade will be dedicated to late U.S. Ambassador to Ireland and Pittsburgh Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney. It kicks off rain or shine on March 17 at 10:00 a.m.

The parade will follow the same Downtown route it’s followed in recent years: starting at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 11 Street, continuing along Grant Street to Boulevard of the Allies, turning right onto Boulevard of the Allies, then ending at Commonwealth Place.

Parade Fest | Market Square
A family-friendly parade fest will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with Irish dancers, buskers, and face painting for kids. An adult party, with alcohol sales, will be held in the square from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.; the party will feature two bands, with performances at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration | Carnegie Library
Stop in after the parade and join the Carnegie Library Downtown and Business Branch for St. Patrick’s Day crafts, activities, and music for kids and families. No registration is required.

St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun | Fifth Avenue Place

Following the Parade, bring the whole family to Fifth Avenue Place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and show your love o’ the Irish with an afternoon of festive fun. Enjoy face painting with a cheery leprechaun, delight in creative balloon art, and be entertained with beautiful melodies by a strolling violinist.  All events are FREE and open to the public.
Kegs and Eggs | Revel + Roost
St. Patrick’s Day at Revel is back. Starting at 7:00 a.m. on March 17, the street level Market Square restaurant will open its doors for Kegs + Eggs followed by an all day celebration with live DJ music, drink specials, and Irish specialty menu continuing till 6:00 p.m. Get tickets here.

Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Party | Howl at the Moon
Get your party started early at Howl at the Moon on Friday, March 16! Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and there will be prizes and giveaways all night.
