“Rivers of Steel – Explorer Passenger Boat” Pittsburgh’s Eco-friendly River Cruise

Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Set sail on a tour of Pittsburgh’s three rivers with The Rivers of Steel! The 94 – foot Explorer Passenger boat is the first “green” cruise ship of its kind, accommodating up to 50 people at a time for a breath-taking and educational experience that you will certainly not forget!

Join Captain Ryan O’Rourke and his crew on board the Explorer riverboat for their “Uniquely Pittsburgh Sightseeing Tour”.

Sit back, enjoy the breeze, and watch the Pittsburgh skyline while you travel the Ohio, Monongahela, and Allegheny Rivers. All while learning the stories of our region’s past. Discover the answer to the question of “What makes Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh?”

This Summer, the Explorer cruises:

  • Thursday’s at 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday through Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Explorer is the world’s first green riverboat – designed and built to LEED standards to host STEM-based education programs now led by Rivers of Steel.

General Admission is $25.00.
Senior, Children, and Student discounts are available.
Proceeds from tours underwrite Rivers of Steel’s STEM-based education programs for students throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
