Strategy in Action

Working towards our Strategic Vision is a year-round effort. Here are some of the highlights from this past month.

Core

Redd Up Week returns ahead of NFL Draft as part of citywide Immaculate Collection

Communities are coming together to beautify city ahead of NFL Draft through the Immaculate Collection. Redd Up Week (April 6-12) returns with group and individual volunteer opportunities in Downtown.

Volunteer projects will include a variety of tasks throughout our Downtown neighborhood, including weeding, cleaning public fixtures, painting, removing litter, general sweeping, and detailing. This is the perfect opportunity for small to medium groups to give back. Come ready to dig in and give Downtown a spring cleaning!

Activation

20+ Market Square businesses participate in last week’s Shopopoly

Inspired by the classic board game, this popular multi-day shopping event offered a fun way to support local merchants during the final leg of construction.

Players were entered to win three tiers of prizes totaling more $3000 – including a one night stay and brunch for two at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Winners will be announced soon.

Transformation

Two new shopping destinations open on Wood Street

Two new independently owned businesses – The Studio by PGH Candle (413 Wood Street) and The Silly Goose (417 Wood Street) welcomed their first customers at the end of March, joining a growing list of retail projects supported by the Vibrancy Initiative. Located in a historic building on Wood Street, these businesses are participating in the PDP’s Project Pop Up and Downtown Rent Abatement Programs.
