The Passing of Herb Burger

Tuesday, October 10, 2017
It is with great sadness that the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership informs you of the passing of Herb Burger.

Herb was a founding member of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and served as the organization’s first Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1994 to 1997, and remained on the Board as an emeritus member, throughout our history. During this time, he was a tremendous asset to the organization, defining the mission and strategic initiatives that continue to guide the PDP today.

In addition to serving the Downtown community, Herb was an extraordinarily well respected advertising executive, heading two of Pittsburgh’s largest advertising agencies, Creamer, Inc and St. George Group. Eventually, Herb turned his considerable talents to real estate development, and along with his wife Jane, started Speedwell Enterprises. They had considerable success in residential and commercial real estate, both in Downtown and Slippery Rock.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 328 6th Street, Pittsburgh, PA, where friends and loved ones will take note of a life well lived.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Herb’s wife Jane and his beloved children and grandchildren.
