Halloween Pops Up with Themed Bars in Downtown

Whether you are a horror fanatic or just a fall lover, Downtown has the perfect pop-up bar to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Nightmare on Forbes Street

Located on the street it’s named after, Nightmare on Forbes Street is bringing chills and spooky cocktails to Market Square. Open every day at 4:00 p.m. from now through Halloween.

The Halloween-themed bar is inspired by Wes Craven’s classic 1984 horror film, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Bar goers can see décor reminiscent of scenes from the iconic movie.

Nightmare on Forbes Street will be serving killer cocktails, including many movie-inspired mixed drinks, beer, and other refreshments, along with small appetizers[ provide by Wolfies Pub.

Look forward to costume contests, movie screenings, trivia nights, and a special Day of the Dead events.

Another sweet treat about Nightmare on Forbes Street is that a portion of the proceeds will be helping to raise funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. Learn more.

Zombie Den

Downtown’s zombie-themed pop-up bar, Zombie Den, has returned to Market Square for another Halloween season.  The Original Oyster House and ScarHouse have teamed up again to present Zombie Den. The immersive pop-up bar is a “safe house” during the “global zombie breakout.”

The zombie-themed bar is inspired by the 1968 movie Night of the Living Dead, which was originally filmed in Pittsburgh.

Zombie Den is open Tuesday through Saturday, at 4:00 p.m. and will remain open until November 2, 2019.

The bar includes a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine for customers to enjoy. Learn more.

House of Gourds

If you’re not a horror fan, don’t be frightened because located beside Harris Grill on Fourth Avenue is a cute, festive, fall-themed pop-up bar, House of Gourds. The intimate bar offers many seasonal drinks, including a frozen apple cider slushy and pumpkin-spiced alcohol late.

The bar opens at 4:00 p.m. and offers many happy hour specials, in correspondence with Harris Grill. Enjoy all of your favorite Harris Grill appetizers like spinach dip, pierogis, chicken on a stick and other delicious foods.
