The Great Race

Monday, September 24, 2018

The Great Race returns to Downtown this Sunday, September 30th! At 8:00 a.m. the 5k race will start in Oakland, and at 9:30 a.m the 10K race will start in Squirrel Hill. Courses will finish at Point State Park.

There will be extensive road closures in place starting at 6:30 a.m. in some areas, with all streets reopening by approximately 11:00 a.m.

Since its inaugural competition, 250,000 people have participated in The Great Race, making the event the largest 10K race in Pennsylvania. The popular fall fitness classic has expanded to include a 5K run/walk, a running clinic, the Junior Great Race, and more.
