We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of The Refillery’s new pop-up storefront in the ground level of Encore Apartments at 100 7th Street, made possible through the PDP’s Project Pop-Up program. We invite the public to join us in welcoming The Refillery to Downtown with a grand opening event on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

This is the second stand-alone retail location in Pittsburgh for The Refillery, a sustainable and eco-conscious store that allows customers to bring clean containers from home to refill with personal care and home essentials. Their extensive selection includes refills such as hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, as well as shampoos, conditioner, and other items.

“We’re excited to welcome The Refillery as our first Project Pop-Up location,” said Cate Irvin, Director of Economic Development for the PDP. “Through this initiative, our goal is to bring innovative small businesses to our neighborhood, and I’m confident they’ll enrich our growing community.”

Larissa Russo, Owner & Founder of The Refillery, expressed gratitude for the opportunity: “We’re honored to be part of Project Pop-Up! Downtown is the vibrant heart of our city, making it the perfect location for The Refillery’s eco-friendly offerings. We want to thank the PDP and McCaffery for their generosity, guidance, and support through this process. Navigating something that’s so new and different can be intimidating, but their support helped us feel confident and ready to hit the ground running!”

Dean Welch, McCaffery Vice President, echoed the excitement: “This collaboration with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership allowed us to tap into non-traditional concepts, and with its focus on eco-friendly products, The Refillery adds an exciting dimension to Encore and offers the Downtown Pittsburgh community an opportunity to shop consciously on their zero-waste journey.”
