Expect Downtown Road Closures for Presidential Visit on Wednesday, October 23

President Donald Trump will be speaking at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Wednesday, October 23. With the visit, businesses and residents should plan for extensive sidewalk and road closures around the Convention Center beginning as early as midnight on Wednesday.

Additionally, expect delays and detours on various Port Authority routes.

Closure Timeline:

  • Midnight, October 23 
    • 10th Street under the Convention Center will be closed to all traffic
  • 4:00 a.m., October 23 
    • No pedestrians will be permitted on Ft. Duquesne Boulevard from Garrison Place to 11th Street or on 11th Street from Ft. Duquesne Boulevard to Smallman Street
  • 9:00 a.m., October 23 – A full closure of the following roads:
    • 10h Street Bypass from Ft. Pitt and Ft. Duquesne Bridge Ramps to Ft. Duquesne Boulevard
    • 11th Street from Ft. Duquesne Boulevard to Smallman Street
    • 10th Street from Ft. Duquesne Boulevard to French Street
    • Ft. Duquense Boulevard from Rachel Carson Bridge to the 10th Street Bypass
    • Secondary streets around the Convention Center 

Roads will be reopened on a staggered schedule following the President’s visit, expected to begin around 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
