The EHDI Conference aims at enhancing the implementation of comprehensive EHDI programs at the state level.
Attendees joining our conference are enabled to:
• Identify and promote the understanding of effective strategies for implementing comprehensive state-based Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) programs. These programs encompass screening, audiologic diagnostic evaluation, early intervention, medical home integration, reporting mechanisms, tracking systems, surveillance protocols, addressing loss to follow-up issues, data integration, and other relevant surveillance components.
• Interpret and elucidate the current research landscape and methodologies pertaining to EHDI, offering insights into the latest developments in the field.
• Evaluate the cultural competence of healthcare providers, assessing their capacity to work effectively with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families, and the broader communities they serve.
• Emphasize the significance of fostering and cultivating new, as well as sustaining existing, collaborative relationships among federal agencies, non-profit organizations, state health departments, educational agencies, advocacy groups, families, and professionals. Recognize the collaborative efforts required to enhance EHDI programs and address the diverse needs of individuals with hearing challenges and their support networks.
