Pittsburgh: A Civic History

Jul 4, 2023 - Jul 4, 2023 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Heinz History Center
1212 Smallman Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Throughout U.S. history, campaign buttons have been to advertise for or against another candidate, political party, or issue. Examine past campaign buttons in the History Center’s collection and design your own button inspired by your vision for democracy.

Continue your Independence Day at the museum with a visit to the fifth floor Barensfeld Gallery to see the new Wars of Empire and Liberty exhibition, which offers a fresh look at two epic conflicts – the French & Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Featuring the revolutionary art of Don Troiani, the exhibit focuses on the struggle for American independence and chronicles a diverse cast of characters swept up by the Revolution.

Pittsburgh: A Civic Legacy is an all-day activity for History Center visitors on July 4.
