Stravinsky's Petrushka with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra

Oct 7, 2022 - Oct 9, 2022
Heinz Hall
600 Penn Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Up-and-coming conductor, Fabien Gabel, debuts with the PSO in an evening of colorful French expression and fantastical Russian melodies. Enjoy Stravinsky’s haunting and iconic story of the love-sick puppet, Petrushka, and listen as this puppet magically processes the span of human emotion, from insecurity to unrequited love to revenge.

Additionally, the “first-rate artist” (Chicago Tribune), Karen Gomyo, makes her debut with one of violin’s staple pieces, Chausson’s Poème, followed by the U.S. premiere of Samy Moussa’s Violin Concerto inspired by the god of fire, Adranus.
