This workshop provides an overview of batik and adire (tie-dye), two traditional Yoruba cloth dyeing processes. Students will learn immersion and compression dyeing, as well as resist techniques using melted wax. These processes have over 1,000 years of history, yet still allow for fresh, personal creativity and self expression.
