Downtown Spring Tours

Monday, May 1, 2017

Springtime is one of the best times to experience Downtown Pittsburgh: from seeing our parks to sailing on the rivers to people-watching on the outdoor cafes, there are a number of tours that’ll show you the best parts of the heart of the city.

  • Quack, quack: the iconic DUKW boats that drive around city streets are back in action. Just Ducky Tours run seven days a week, offering tours of Downtown, the North Shore, and, after driving around the streets, drive straight into one of the three rivers.
  • All About the Burgh, the Culture to Ketchup Tour: Step aboard a vintage 1920s style trolley and experience Pittsburgh with a fully-guided 2-hour historical tour. The Molly’s Trolleys Sightseeing Tour departs from Station Square and travels to Downtown, the North Shore, Strip District, Oakland, and the South Side.
  • Segway Pittsburgh: If two wheels are more your things, hop on a personal Segway for a memorable way to see the city. A variety of tours are available, including a 5-mile tour of Downtown, Sunset Tours, and more. Segway Pittsburgh departs from Station Square seven days a week.
  • Free Guided Walking Tours: Join the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation for a variety of tours that highlight the history, architecture, and culture of Downtown Pittsburgh. From a close look at the sister bridges and riverfronts to a walk through the Old Allegheny County Jail museum, visit PHLF.org to learn about their one-hour free tours.
  • Haunted Pittsburgh: Starting Fridays and Saturdays this May, join Haunted Pittsburgh for a look at the unique spooky history of Downtown. A walking tour that dives deep into Pittsburgh history to unearth forgotten tales and good scares, tours usually run from 85 minutes to two hours long departing from the City-County Building in Downtown.
  • Gateway Clipper Fleet: Whether you’re looking to have dinner on the water or are looking for gorgeous sunset views of Downtown, hop on board a Gateway Clipper tour! A variety of packages are available, including dinner cruises, sightseeing tours, and more, all on some of the largest boats in the ‘burgh.
  • Walk the Burgh: Walk by and into some of Downtown’s most interesting cultural destinations! Walking down major avenues and small alleyways uncover beautiful squares, public art, and more.
