Biking in the ‘Burgh: Celebrate National Bike Month Downtown

May is National Bike Month! This month is an opportunity to showcase the many benefits of cycling and the community around it. Pittsburgh has a wonderful biking community that provides resources, events, and connections between cyclists. Check out all of these exciting ways to celebrate downtown! 🚲

BikePGH is celebrating cycling commuters on May 9th! Bikers can stop by the Commuter CafĂ© in Market Square from 7 – 10 am for free breakfast and coffee. Open Streets Downtown

The OpenStreetsPGH event series is kicking off during Bike Month! This free to attend event shuts down streets to allow the community to reimagine spaces otherwise used by motor vehicles. This month, explore activity hubs, small businesses and more from Market Square to the East Carson Business District from 10 am – 2 pm! Learn more.

Pittsburgh Ride of Silence

đź“ŤRide Begins at Second Avenue Parking Plaza

This international event brings together community members who have been affected by traffic violence. Join Western PA Bicycle Club for a silent procession to honor bicyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. The route will travel through Downtown past the ghost bike memorial for James Mills, which you can learn more about here.
