Biking Around the Burgh with Food is My Saviorr

Wednesday, June 9, 2021

Food is my Saviorr, a well-known Pittsburgh Foodie on Instagram, “bikes” us through the city and shares her experience cruising to many Good Eats Outdoors.

Read up on her food adventure below:

No better way to spend a summer day than getting outside to enjoy the awesome views, delicious eats, and splendid shopping spots within Downtown Pittsburgh. I started in the Northside and biked over the Rachel Carson Bridge. There is something extremely special about seeing the city in full effect as you speed across the Allegheny River.

Once I made my way into the city, I started in the Cultural District for a few outdoor eats. Bakersfield was the first stop to chow down on some chips and dips. I ordered the Fully Loaded Queso and a Spicy Margarita to quench my thirst. They have high tops and tables with lots of umbrella coverage, so I hung out for a little while listening to live music. After my delicious Mexican cuisine, I decided on Thai for my entree. Up the street, just a bit is Nicky’s Thai where I devoured some tasty Pad Thai and brought some leftovers to-go. Then, I hopped back on my bike and ventured over to Steel City on Smithfield Street for some great Pittsburgh gear. I spent time looking through the cute apparel and trinkets that are all dedicated to this beautiful city. Next up, Market Square.

When riding, I limit myself to two cocktails which meant it was time for one more. I biked over to Market Street Grocery where they have an awesome outdoor bar setup called Spring Break. Locked my bike up to casually sip on some White Peach Sangria until it was time for dessert. I zoomed through The Square to Millie’s. At my last stop, I enjoyed a Peanut Butter Chip waffle cone before it was time to venture home.

Hurry down! The time is right to get Downtown for some relaxation, fun, and Good Eats Outdoors.
