Out and About: Pork & Beans

Monday, February 11, 2019

Voted back in 2017 as the best barbeque in the ‘burgh by Pittsburgh MagazinePork & Beans continues to impress with their selection of house-smoked meats, delicious sides, and now, an even easier way to treat yourself to an incredibly satisfying lunch.

We visited last week for their new quick-service-style lunch, which launched last Tuesday: you order right at the counter and then have your meal brought to you, getting you the tasty BBQ and sides you expect in a fast way that makes this an easy stop during work. We tried their brisket sandwich with whole grain mustard, pickled fennel, cherry peppers, and dill, along with the pork belly Reuben served with house kraut and Jarlsberg. Both were incredibly delicious and filling, and come with a side of BBQ chips. Added bonus: along with their meats being prepared on-site, everything is pickled in-house.

In addition to the lunch format, relatively new in the offerings from Pork & Beans is catering that’s ideal for in-office happy hours, unique meetings, celebrations, and more (and is way more exciting than your standard office-fare).

Check out the new quick-service lunch at Pork & Beans Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and you can view their full menu and catering options on their website.
