Highmark Blues & Heritage Festival

The African American Cultural Center is pleased to present the first Highmark Blues and Heritage Festival on September 29-30 at the August Wilson Center and outdoors on Liberty Avenue, Downtown Pittsburgh.

Blues and BBQ will fill the August Wilson Center to kick off the 2018 Highmark Blues & Heritage Festival during the inaugural TASTE OF BLUES PARTY on Friday September 28 at 8:00pm. The night includes food tastings from local restaurants including Braddock’s, Eddie Merlot’s, Fogo De Chao, A519 Chocolate, Blume Honey Water, Pirata, Vallozzi’s, Market Street Grocery, Capital Grill, Double Wide Grill, Walters, and Bridges and Bourbon, live musical performances and more!

On Saturday, September 29, Liberty Avenue will host an outdoor stage with free performances from 11:30 a.m. – 4:14 p.m., additional free indoor shows from 4:30 – 7:15 p.m. and a ticketed concert by Bettye LaVette.

Sunday, September 30 features two ticketed performances, one by Sweet Honey in the Rock and the second by John Scofield. Additionally, there are a variety of classes and workshops for all ages.
