Apply now for a grant of up to $5,000 to activate Downtown Pittsburgh!
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Placemaking Grant, with generous support from Citizens Financial Group, is looking for new applicants to activate public spaces with community events and programming in 2025. Local individuals, non-profit organizations and civic groups are all encouraged to apply for $1,000 – $5,000 grants for creative projects and activities that help us create vibrant and welcoming experiences in places around the Golden Triangle.
This grant opportunity is open to both experienced and new creative minds who are passionate about Downtown Pittsburgh and our community. Over the past year, the grant supported nine new placemaking projects, including weekly lunchtime meditation sessions in Mellon Square, an outdoor movie night with a live DJ score at The Backyard, vibrant public art along Smithfield Street, and a Spaceburgh Festival in Market Square.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, allowing for projects to be implemented throughout the year. Winter programming ideas will receive expedited review. To apply, candidates should complete the online form at the link below. Successful projects will help us find new ways to make Downtown fun, entertaining and engaging.
