In Memory of Adele Morelli

The PDP has lost an incredible friend and champion in Adele Morelli. Adele passed away on Sept. 21, 2024, while in Portugal. She was 55 years old.

As a proud member of our Board of Directors, Adele served on the Clean & Safe Committee and the BID Committee, and in 2022 received the Herb Burger Award for her extraordinary service and tireless dedication to this city. She volunteered significant time and energy towards our efforts to ensure Downtown remains a vibrant and welcoming place to live, work and visit.

A Pittsburgher through and through, Adele was deeply involved in her community as a Downtown resident for over 25 years, and as the owner of Boutique La Passerelle on Wood Street. Throughout that time, she was known for her compassion and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was ardent in her support of Downtown and enthusiastically participated in every small business initiative and event. Even as the pandemic brought significant challenges to retailers around the city, Adele consistently sought out opportunities to support her neighbors, always asking, “What can I do to help?”

Adele brought joy and light to so many in our community, and will be profoundly missed.

We extend our deepest condolences to Adele’s family and friends, and all who were touched by her advocacy, support and friendship. Please join us in remembering Adele and her legacy at a Celebration Of Life from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2024 at the Greer Cabaret Theater in Downtown Pittsburgh.
