Shop Small Downtown this Holiday Season

Wednesday, November 24, 2021

This holiday season, support the small businesses that help make our city so vibrant by pledging to shop small.

Skip the mall madness this Black Friday and instead enjoy a more festive shopping experience Downtown! The 10th annual Peoples Gas Holiday Market, featuring more vendors than ever, will be open at 11 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving. In between shopping, have fun all around the neighborhood ice skating at PPG Place, getting your photo with Santa at Santa Zoom: Live from the North Pole, seeing the World’s Largest Pickle Ornament, and visiting the Holiday KidsPlay Selfie Garden.

On Small Business Saturday, November 27, visit our team popping up in Market Square to receive a free tote bag (while supplies last). Then, enter to win $1,000 in Downtown restaurant gift cards when you find elves hiding at 22 small businesses around the neighborhood. While out searching for the elves, check some gifts off your list and receive a bonus mystery gift card for yourself with select purchases. Learn more about the Downtown Elf Hunt.

Also happening this weekend, check out the return of The Black Market: Holiday Edition, open at 623 Smithfield Street for three weekends this holiday season. This pop-up market supports and showcases Black-owned businesses from around the region and is a buzzing destination Downtown during the holiday season.
