Join the Pittsburgh Symphony and French conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier to celebrate the city of Paris with Bolero! at Heinz Hall this weekend. The program offers movements from Offenbach’s La Gaîté Parisienne, depicting a scene from a fashionable Parisian café in the mid-1800s. To follow, the orchestra will perform Ravel’s pulsating Boléro, which premiered at the Paris Opera in November 1928.
Before the concert, see a pre-show talk beginning one hour prior to the performance! Learn about the music you will hear on stage, and hear insights and history direct from the musicians themselves. The show runs from Friday, March 17 – Sunday, March 19, and you can purchase tickets on the Pittsburgh Symphony’s website here.
