Route 4003 McKnight Road Seal Coat Work Thursday in McCandless
PennDOT District 11 is announcing seal coat work on Route 4003 (McKnight Road) in McCandless township, Allegheny County, will occur Thursday, July 17 weather permitting.
Seal Coat operations will occur on the on and off ramps at the McKnight Road/Ingomar Road interchange. Stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur on the ramps as needed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Restrictions on the ramps will not occur simultaneously. PennDOT crews will conduct the work.
Route 4003 McKnight Road Single-lane Restrictions Next Week in Allegheny County
PennDOT District 11 is announcing single-lane restrictions on Route 4003 (McKnight Road) in the City of Pittsburgh and Ross and McCandless townships, Allegheny County will occur Monday through Friday, July 21-25 weather permitting.
A single-lane restriction on McKnight Road in each direction will occur as needed between Ross Municipal Drive and Venture Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will conduct miscellaneous punch list work.
Route 4019 Mt. Royal Boulevard Overnight Restrictions
PennDOT District 11 is announcing roadway improvement work on Mt. Royal Boulevard (Route 4019) in Hampton and Shaler townships, Allegheny County will begin Tuesday night, July 15 weather permitting.
Single-lane alternating traffic will occur between Route 8 and Grant Avenue weeknights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through late November. Crews will conduct roadway improvement work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone. Intermittent daylight restrictions will occur as needed.
Route 28 Ramp Restrictions Continue Next Week in Allegheny County
PennDOT District 11 is announcing shoulder restrictions on Route 28 ramps in O’Hara and Harmar townships, Allegheny County will occur Monday through Friday, July 14-18 weather permitting.
Conduit installation work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the following locations:
Shoulder restrictions on the ramps will occur during the installation work. The ramps will remain open to traffic.
Additionally, wrong way detection testing will occur the Route 28 off-ramps at the RIDC Park (Exit 11) interchange in both directions from 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 16. Stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur on the off-ramps as crews from Power Contracting conduct the test work. The Pennsylvania State Police will assist with the closures.
Schedule updates will be provided throughout the project as crews move work locations.
Highland Park Bridge Overnight Ramp Closures Next Week in Pittsburgh
PennDOT District 11 is announcing overnight improvement work on ramps on the southern end of the Highland Park Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Monday through Wednesday nights, July 7-9 weather permitting.
Ramp closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night to allow crews to conduct milling and paving of the ramps to and from Route 8 (Washington Boulevard) and the Highland Park Bridge. Closures will occur according to the following schedule:

PennDOT District 11 is announcing reconstruction work on the ramp from southbound Route 28 to northbound Route 8 in Shaler Township and Sharpsburg Borough, Allegheny County will begin Monday, July 7 weather permitting.
Beginning at approximately 6 a.m. Monday, the ramp that carries traffic from southbound Route 28 to northbound Route 8 (North 8/Butler Exit 5) will close to traffic around-the-clock through Thursday, July 31. Crews will conduct ramp reconstruction work. Ramp traffic will be detoured.

I-279 HOV Long-term Closure in Advance of Pier Repair Work Begins Tuesday in Pittsburgh
PennDOT is announcing that due to work needed before pier repairs begin on southbound Interstate 579, a long-term closure of the I-279 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will begin Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting.
Beginning at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, crews will begin preparatory work for a new traffic configuration to allow pier repair work to occur on southbound I-579 bridges. For this work to occur, the I-279 portion of the HOV lanes will close to traffic around-the-clock until the new traffic configuration can be implemented in early to mid-July. The repair plan makes necessary long-term repairs while maintaining as much traffic flow as possible.
Crews will begin removal of concrete barrier between southbound I-279 and the I-279 HOV lanes as well as between the southbound I-579 HOV lanes and southbound I-579 along the Veterans Bridge over the Allegheny River. Additionally, temporary barrier installation, updated signage, asphalt paving, Intelligent Transportation Systems work, drainage modifications, and line painting will occur in advance of the new traffic configuration.
Once preparatory work is completed, the new traffic configuration will utilize a portion of the southbound I-279 HOV lanes and the southbound I-579 HOV lanes to carry traffic from southbound I-279 to southbound I-579 while pier repair work occurs. It is anticipated that in early to mid-July, repair work will begin on bridge piers on southbound I-579. To accommodate this work, the following traffic configuration will be implemented:

PennDOT District 11 is announcing culvert replacement work on Rochester Road (Route 4011) in Ross Township, Allegheny County will begin Monday, June 2 weather permitting.
Culvert replacement work requiring a full closure of Rochester Road between Nocklyn Drive and Reis Run Road/Sewickley Oakmont Road will begin at 6 a.m. Monday, June 2. Rochester Road will close to through traffic continuously through 5 p.m. Sunday, August 10. Traffic will be detoured.

PennDOT District 11 is announcing roadway improvement work is underway on Route 8 (Butler Street) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County.
Single-lane restrictions will occur on Route 8 between the 62nd Street Bridge and Baker Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights through late October. Additionally, work will occur on weekends as needed.
I-279 Joint Rehabilitation Begins Wednesday Night in Allegheny County
PennDOT District 11 is announcing joint habilitation activities on Interstate 279 (Parkway North) in Ross Township and Franklin Park Borough, Allegheny County will begin Wednesday night, April 2 weather permitting.
Lane restrictions will occur weeknights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., as needed, in both directions of I-279 between the Camp Horne Road (Exit 8) interchange and I-79 as crews conduct joint sealing, bridge deck improvements, and line painting operations. Weekend work will occur as needed.
The overall project will continue through late October.
Route 8 Improvement Work Resumes Monday in Allegheny County
PennDOT District 11 is announcing roadway improvement work on Route 8 (William Flinn Highway) in Shaler Township and Etna Borough, Allegheny County will resume Monday, March 31 weather permitting.
Single-lane restrictions will occur on Route 8 between Saxonburg Boulevard and Route 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weeknights through late October. Additionally, work will occur on weekends as needed. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained throughout the majority of the project.
Route 1010 Harts Run Road Improvement Work Resumes Monday in Allegheny County
PennDOT District 11 is announcing roadway improvement work on Route 1010 (Harts Run Road) in Indiana and Hampton townships, Allegheny County will begin Monday, March 10 weather permitting.
Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on Harts Run Road between Route 8 and Saxonburg Boulevard weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late October as crews conduct drainage improvements, surveying, and milling and paving operations. The prime contractor is A. Liberoni, Inc. on this $11.89 million group paving project.
