Small Business Saturday is a national initiative that encourages people to come out the day after Black Friday and support their local economy by shopping at their community’s small businesses.

With over 140 retailers, 67% of which are locally owned – Downtown Pittsburgh is an excellent place to show your support for the local economy. Downtown Pittsburgh has small businesses offering men’s and women’s apparel, chocolatiers, shoe stores, jewelry, candy stores, watches, and more to satisfy anyone on your holiday shopping list.

About the Downtown Holiday Shopping Passport Program

Shop local! This holiday season, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will promote Downtown’s small businesses through the Downtown Holiday Shopping Passport Program. The passport program will kick off on Small Business Saturday on November 30 and will run through December 23. On Small Business Saturday, stop by our information tent at the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ in Market Square beginning at 11:00 a.m. to pick up your passport, grab some Small Business free swag, and learn about the program.

How will the Downtown Holiday Shopping Passport Program work?

Shoppers will have the chance to participate in the Downtown Holiday Shopping Passport Program by picking up passports at any participating store and at the information booth located in the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ in Market Square anytime fromNovember 30 – December 23.

Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ hours:

Monday – Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Friday & Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Note: Market will be closed on Thanksgiving

Special prizes will be awarded to people who shop local on Small Business Saturday (November 30) and return their completed passports to any participating store or at the PDP information booth at the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ in Market Square.

Additional prizes will be raffled off to participants who return their completed passports each week leading up to the final day of the Peoples Gas Holiday Market™ in Market Square on December 23.

Prize raffle schedule:

Small Business Saturday: November 30

• Several lucky winners will be chosen at random to win prizes generously donated from dozens of Downtown’s small businesses.

Week 1: November 30 – December 6

• Win a gift certificate for a one night stay in a deluxe room at the Fairmont Pittsburgh with dinner for two at Fl.2.

Week 2: December 7 – 13

• Win a gift certificate for a one night stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh Downtown and a $50 gift certificate for dinner.

Week 3: December 14 – 20

• Win a gift certificate for a one night stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh with dinner for two at The Commoner

Week 4: December 21 – 23

• Win a gift certificate for a one night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown and a gift certificate for dinner.
