NEW LOCATION: PPG PLAZA
The Farmers Market, which has called Market Square home for the past two decades, is back for its 21st season in a new, nearby location!
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy will continue its annual ‘free bulb giveaway’ tradition for the kick-off, handing out hundreds of free daffodil bulbs on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Coen Markets will also join the first market on May 15th, and will be featured in several others throughout the season.
Just Harvest will also be onsite again this year to offer their Fresh Access program that allows shoppers to use their food stamps – as well as credit and debit cards – to buy fresh, nutritious, and locally-grown food. The program also supplements food stamp shoppers with an extra $2.00 to spend on fruits and veggies for every $5.00 they spend in food stamps.
Admission to the market is free, with easy access to parking in the Third Avenue Garage.
Conveniently located in PPG Plaza, the Farmers Market is accessible via car, bike, bus/transit, and walking from surrounding neighborhoods.
