Jun 3, 2017 - Jun 3, 2017 | 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Library & Archives at the Heinz History Center
1212 Smallman Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Join genealogists Melanie Holtz, CG of Lo Schiavo Genealogica and Rich Venezia of Rich Roots Genealogy for a workshop on delving into your family history in Italy.

Benefiting beginner and seasoned genealogists alike, this workshop will provide guidance on acquiring Italian-American dual citizenship as well as beginning your genealogical research on the ground in Italy.

This instructional workshop will also include helpful guidance on using the History Center’s Italian American Collection to contextualize your local family history here in Western Pennsylvania.

Experts from the Diocese of Pittsburgh Archives and Records Center, the Pennsylvania Department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, North Hills Genealogists, Roots in the Boot, Green Tree Family History Center, Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, and Istituto Mondo Italiano will share information on resources available locally to enhance your genealogical research. Representatives from each will be on hand to share best practices and tips with fellow researchers.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a special curator-led tour of artifacts from the History Center’s Italian American Collection on display within the museum’s fourth floor Special Collections Gallery.
