History Explorers: City of Bridges

Jan 15, 2020 - Jan 15, 2020 | 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Heinz History Center
1212 Smallman St.
Pittsburgh, PA 15222

Explore the history and engineering of some of Pittsburgh’s most famous landmarks, bridges. Investigate images of historic bridges, learn about an especially strong wire rope designed by Pittsburgher John Roebling, design your own bridge, and build a collaborative bridge strong enough to hold the weight of a grown-up.

Youth ages 5-8, join us as we explore Pittsburgh stories through games, art, cooking, making, and other hands-on activities. Caregivers and siblings are welcome, but programming is designed for 5–8-year-olds.

REGISTRATION

Registration costs $8 for participating youth ages 5-8 and $8 for attending adults. Siblings under 5 can attend for free.

If you are a History Center member, please enter the discount code EXPLOREHHC on the registration page. You will be asked to present proof of your membership at check-in.
