On view now in the Franco Harris Sports Museum, the 2026 NFL Draft Exhibit celebrates the region’s deep football roots and shares this region’s innovative connections to the draft. Visitors can explore Pittsburgh’s role in the origins of the NFL Draft, which dates to the 1935 NFL owners meeting at downtown’s Fort Pitt Hotel, and the evolution of the Steeler’s draft philosophy, from a team that mortgaged the future by trading draft picks to one that built a legendary dynasty using the draft.
