Over three days, local scientists from universities, museums, hospitals, and local government officials will give talks about their research and how science impacts our community! The themes of the nights include:
May 18th: How 3D Printing is Transforming Manufacturing & Rocket Design
3D printing is rapidly reshaping how we design & build everything from everyday products to rockets. These talks will explore additive manufacturing & how it enables powerful design capabilities for aerospace engineering. Learn how researchers are ensuring these cutting-edge parts are reliable for spaceflight!
May 19th: World’s Apart: Living In & Exploring Space
What will it take for humans to live off of earth? What can our neighboring planets teach us about extreme environments? This event explores the realities of long-duration space habitation and the gap between sci-fi and real-life NASA missions. We will also look at Venus, where upcoming missions aim to reveal whether its massive volcanoes are still active.
May 20th: Reading Earth’s Past & Shaping Its Future
Human activity is reshaping the planet in the Anthropocene. How can we respond to today's environmental challenges while learning from Earth's past? We will explore solutions through rethinking how people relate to nature and reveal how lake sediments act as natural archives, preserving climate records that help scientists understand environmental change and prepare for the future.
Come enjoy space themed talks while sipping on space themed cocktails and supporting a local business! Tickets ($2) are available as of April 15th at the Pint of Science Website!
