Throughout the evening, our host Jacob Joyce will introduce the works of WGS and discuss how he uses instrumental color, shape, and texture to create a vivid representative image. Additionally, Jacob will reference two other composers who are known for this technique: Florence Price, one of Still’s contemporaries, and Maurice Ravel, one of the great composers of French impressionism.
