Extending from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, the transcontinental railway in Canada, built by the Canadian Pacific Railway, is known as one of the greatest engineering feats in history. The last spike for the railway was driven in 1885.
This movie draws viewers into a shared kinetic journey that reveals that history and showcases a remarkable part of our planet, says director Stephen Low. It is a truly immersive, “being there” experience.
The film weaves together spectacular IMAX aerial cinematography, archival photographs and maps, and the potent energy and rhythms of a live steam locomotive to immerse audiences in this remarkable story from the age of steam. Retrace Canadian Pacific 2816’s original route carved out of mountains, rocks, and riversides from west to east.
Seating is “first come, first serve” with breakfast from 8-10 a.m. and the film beginning at 10 a.m.
