You’ll get chills from the opening of Sibelius’s Finlandia, a powerful piece born from a call for national identity and independence from Russia. Sibelius’s Sixth reveals the quiet beauty of the natural world, while Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto dazzles with color and charm. This is sure to be an extraordinary performance from Leila Josefowicz, a MacArthur “genius” Fellow and passionate new music champion.
