Revel’s “On the Wall Video Showcase” Welcomes Tom Panei as July’s Featured Artist

Tom Panei is a Butler-based artist, known for his distinctive chalk pastel-on-wood pieces.  Though he works in a variety of media, chalk pastels have become Tom’s passion. Straying from traditional realism, his style recalls the cubist assemblage techniques of Picasso and Braque, using a self-developed method of blending chalk pastels on wood panels—now his signature style. From colorful abstracts to large vibrant murals, Tom’s work is recognized throughout the tri-state area and beyond.

The video installation launches July 1 and will run throughout the month, giving guests a chance to experience Panei’s atmospheric artwork in a contemporary, high-definition format.

To accompany Tom’s visual arts showcase, Revel is proud to feature July’s Signature Cocktail: the Sunflower Sour, a refreshing twist on a classic whiskey sour.  A portion of the proceeds from every Sunflower Sour sold throughout July will benefit MCG Youth, helping to fund vital arts education and creative programming for Pittsburgh youth.
