To the left, you’ll see a Parisian garden with children joyfully playing. To the right, you’ll see a hut running on chicken legs. Journey down the museum corridor with us as we hear the sounds of art in Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
Yulianna Avdeeva also returns with Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto, written to be reminiscent of the coastline of France, led by the debut of conductor Petr Popelka.
Community-Curated Exhibition: An Artistic Celebration of Friendship Drawing inspiration from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, a musical homage to his friend and artist Viktor Hartmann, the PSO presents an exhibition at Heinz Hall from January 12-14, 2024, that captures the profound essence of friendship through art. This exhibit features an array of original pieces by local high school and university students, alongside a special display of Hartmann's six surviving masterpieces. This is free and open to concertgoers for this weekend.
