Bill Guentzler, longtime Artistic Director for the Cleveland Int’l Film Festival, is now the Senior Director of Acquisitions for Gravitas Ventures, buying films for this Cleveland-based independent film distribution company. Tonight, Bill will answer questions about his new job (and film acquisitions in general) after a screening of one of Gravitas’ most acclaimed recent releases.

BLAZE, arguably the best-reviewed Aussie fantasy thriller since The Babadook, tells of a 12-year-old girl who accidentally witnesses a brutal crime. Traumatized, she retreats into her vivid (and impeccably realized) imagination to find solace and justice. Simon Baker and Julia Savage star in the movie, which is the feature debut of visual artist-turned-filmmaker Del Kathryn Barton, two-time winner of Australia’s Archibald Prize for portraiture.
