Pittsburgh has long been a center of innovation and cutting-edge industries. That smiley emoticon you tap on every day? Invented in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon University! It is also the city of bridges, which makes for the ideal theme for our 2023 Conference, Bridges to the Future.

We look forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh to build bridges together to a sustainable future for orchestras that is both artistically creative and reflects our communities; to explore the culture of innovation that can help revitalize us; to share effective business practices and the building of healthy cultures; and to redefine the orchestral art form’s relevance, especially to the next generation. And, of course, there will be outstanding performances that include a new commission by Stacy Garrop and a collaboration with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
