Powered UP - Energy Innovation Center, The Hill District 

Kicking off Earth Day festivities will take place at the Energy Innovation Center located at 1435 Bedford Avenue in the Hill District from 11AM-2PM. You can Chill & Grill with Tailgate Tastings prepared by Chef Claudy Pierre from the E.A.T. Initiative, and Eminent Hospitality Group. The DLC team will be on-site to showcase how the public can reduce their environmental impact through energy efficiency and electrification. Event-goers will get to see one of DLC’s new, all-electric Ford F-150 Lightnings; get an inside look at what life is like for lineworkers; and learn how DLC is building the future workforce to support the region’s clean energy transition. Attendees are also encouraged to take the ‘Power It Up Pledge’ and join the movement towards a more sustainable future. You’ve got the power - join the charge. Also, on The Hill to celebrate Earth Day, you can meet Ki Ki from WAMO 107.3 along with The Pirate Parrot, The Bucco Brigade and the Pittsburgh Pirates Pierogies.

By helping bring Earth Day awareness and celebrations to our region, we are living our vision of a clean energy future for all,” said Christine Waller, vice president of communications and corporate responsibility at DLC. “April 22 is a golden opportunity for DLC and our Tailgate Tour partners to educate the public and inspire action in creating a healthier, cleaner and more equitable future in Pittsburgh and beyond.”

Music, Art and Culture Festival - Market Square, Downtown Pittsburgh 

The Music, Art, and Culture Festival is a free annual community celebration from 11AM-6PM in Market Square and filled with fun, educational, and inspirational activities and events for all ages. The Square will become a hub for music and eco-friendly activity booths.

On The Stage, Get Fit with two back to back community exercise classes~Hiit Class by Bella followed by Zumbathon featuring Carla & Susy. Enjoy music performances, headlined by The Uprooted Band Featuring Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root. This performance will be part of the band's 25th anniversary of their album  ‘When I Woke." In addition enjoy incredible performances by The Soulful Femme Band and Nash’ville featuring Byron Nash. You can also check out Live Art on Stage by Local Artist, Kevin “The Nerve” Wenner.

In the Square, you can meet the radio team from Star 100.7 FM and take a pic with The Pirate Parrot, The Bucco Brigade who will also make a stop from 1P-2P before they head over to wrap up their Tailgate Tour at the Pirates Game.

Be a part of The Creative Drinks Stage Takeover and Bubble Party featuring DJ Arie Cole spinning starting at 4PM until the event wraps at 6PM. There is a special guest performance by a National Recording Artist from Pittsburgh that you won’t want to miss! Check out the website, pittsburghearthday.org for the upcoming announcement.

Also as a part of the Music, Art and Culture Festival, the educational area will include an alternative and an electric transportation corner. plus ways to interact with and learn more about local, green businesses. Pittsburgh Pirates Salute - PNC Park, The North Shore 

The Tailgate Tour will finish with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Salute to Sustainability in The Diamond. Join the Pirates at the iconic PNC Park as they face the Cincinnati Reds with a 6:35PM Game Time with Duquesne Light Company President and CEO Kevin Walker throwing out the First Pitch.
